Period 3 (or 4) - Semester Final.


Final Semester 1

1.What is your favorite photo from this Lens slideshow? Provide three reasons that it is your favorite.
The 9th photo is my favorite photo, because this photo use competition of the Rule of Thirds, make the picture more layer. Also this picture use competition of Shallow Depth of Field, emphasize the dear is a most important part in this picture. Lastly, this picture's background is very cool, the leaves which on the top of make picture more amazing natural mysterious.

2.Which photo is the best from the slideshow? Provide three reasons.
The best picture in this slideshow is 1st one, because this picture the sea's level is very low, didn't let people feel Eye-catching, however make people focus more bright lights. Also this picture use competition of Rule of Thirds which emphasize the bright light on the right-top of the pictures. Lastly, the most important part which is the bright light, it shows cool halo around the light, and make people's feel bright from this dark background.

3.What is your best work this semester? Include the blog link. Give three reasons why this is your best work. If you had more time, how would you do to improve the project.
My best Photo this semester--5th photo
Reason: 1. I think its color is cool after I edit into whit and black, make the brightness lower than change color---Brown, feel more retro.
Reason: 2. This picture shows people's emotion strongly.
Reason: 3. The white color which on the character's shirt is very contrast to whole picture's black and brown.
If I have more time, I will improve its background into darker area, because it will emphasize more emotion of this character who was taken picture by myself.

4.You chose three rules of composition. What are your three rules?

                       This picture is using Rule of Thirds, Shallow Depth of Field, and Background.

7. What are the benefits of working in groups? Provide a list with five benefits.
1. Learn advantages from other people. However, powerful people also need help, because each person's are good at different abilities, during work perhaps achieve a complementary function.
2. Learning to communicate with each other, it makes us that we know what we suppose to do and more understanding to achieve the goal.
3. More Self-strengthening: no matter which team, group members' abilities are either high or low, we only enrich ourselves and strengthen our abilities to enhance the overall strength of the team.
4. We can meet new friends, because we won't always work with a same group people, and every time we work with different people who we can get a good friendship with them.
5. Respect each other, we can't always work with our own thoughts during working in a group, if does, we will fail all things.

8. What are the difficulties of working in groups? List five difficulties.
1. Too much controversy: As a team we know that everyone will have our own opinion, but often well-intention or bad intention advice make no person is too willing to accept other people's opinions.
2. Sometimes we will get some loungers, always rely on teammates dependence, not working, just take, when he has felt that life was already good, does not need too much productivity you can get the same results with teammates.
3. Distrust each other, sometimes if one people in a group did a very bad thing on a project, other people will distrust him/her for a long time.
4. There is easy to leave group when someone feel nothing to do, and very hard to let him continue to work.
5. If we need to work for a project out of class time, it's hard to unit people with a group to work for it.

Mahad's Self-Portrait  is my favorite work product.

10. You studied a master photographer and reproduced his or her work. Who was the photographer? What did the photographer contribute to the field of photographer? List one significant contribution.
Clarence Hudson White, In U.S. history, he played a leading role in portrait photography, also during and after the powerful period of the Photo-Secession which was an 20th-century movement that promoted photography as a fine art in general. He also teaching at established institutions and his own school.


11. What is Dorothea Lange's most popular photo? (Does the photo have a name?) Where was the photo taken? When? What agency employed Dorothea when she took the photo? 

Dorothea Lange's the series of "Migrant Mother" is the most popular photo; the photo was taken in Nipomo, California; the photo was taken during February or March of 1936; Resettlement Administration (RA) and Farm Security Administration (FSA) employed her.

Henry Robinson Luce is the creator/founder of Life Magazine In 1901, the (photojournalism) magazine began publishing.

13. Robert Capa was a founding member of what organization? What year did the organization start?
Robert Capa was a founding member of Magnum Photos, in Paris in 1947.

14. Robert Capa took the photo known as "Falling Soldier." When and where did he take the photo?
In 1936, he has been taken in Cerro Muriano on the Cordoba Front.
